These Actors Totally Goofed By Leaking Spoilers To Their Own Projects During Promo

It's harder to keep it all under wraps than you'd think.

It's so fun to see actors excited and passionate about their upcoming projects, especially when they're ready to share them with the rest of the world.

On occasion, that excitement can spill over and before you know it, spoilers slip out.

Sometimes, it's not that big of a deal and it goes relatively under the radar. In this day and age, it tends to blow up a bit bigger though.

Most people only slip up once or twice, but some actors have reputations as serial offenders. Here are the best of both.

1. Tom Holland, spoiler-in-chief, has reportedly had information restricted from him for fear he might slip up during a press tour.

Some of his greatest hits include accidentally revealing the Sony/Marvel Spider-Man series was a trilogy before the third film was announced, and accidentally ruining the end of Avengers: Infinity War for a whole theater of people about to watch it.

2. Mischa Barton revealed her One Tree Hill character Marissa Cooper's fate a day before the highly anticipated episode aired.

Even though there were rumors of a cast member leaving and a character death was being teased during the season, OC fans were straight-up not okay with Marissa Cooper's demise.

3. Michael Keaton gave away a pretty major Batman spoiler THE DAY BEFORE the iconic film was released on Late Night With David Letterman.

You'll full-body cringe watching him explain that the Joker killed Batman's parents.

4. When Sylvester Stallone posted a photo of the Creed script, he didn't realize hardcore fans would zoom in on the script and learn his character, Rocky Balboa, would have cancer in the film.

5. David Prowse, the man who physically played Darth Vader, revealed the twist that he was Luke Skywalker's father two years before it came out in films.

Since he only slipped to a local newspaper and social media and fandom weren't things yet, it went mostly unnoticed.

6. Ian McShane was talking about his character in Game Of Thrones and revealed he'd only be in one episode, AND that he was bringing back a character everyone thought was dead.

GOT friends were biiiiiig mad, which McShane later said was a huge overreaction.

7. While in Tokyo for the I Am Legend press tour, Will Smith accidentally revealed the ending of the film.

Thankfully, the press honored the request to keep the reveal under wraps.

8. Dave Bautista revealed he was filming a fourth Avengers film before it was officially announced.

He made the comment flippantly, but fans pieced together that his character, Drax, had been vanquished as part of Thanos' snap. That meant the snapped heroes, or at least some of them, were due for a comeback.

9. Rachel McAdams said wayyyy too much about The Time Traveler's Wife during an appearance on The Daily Show.

Like, she basically gave away the whole movie's plot...

10. Mark Ruffalo failed to end a live stream he did before a Thor: Ragnarok screening and ended up leaking audio of the first 10 minutes of the movie before realizing his error.

11. David Harbour spoiled his Stranger Things character's fate in his Saturday Night Live monologue (with some help from Pete Davidson).

When Pete asked him if his character was really dead, David tripped over his words and gave fans an indication of what was about to go down.

12. Kit Harrington never said a word, but his 2015 haircut seemed like a major spoiler that his Jon Snow days were behind him.

13. Anne Hathaway wasn't responsible for David Letterman spoiling the end of The Dark Knight Rises, but she couldn't turn the moment around either.

She knew Christopher Nolan would not be pleased.

14. Jason Momoa accidentally spoiled the end of Aquaman (for people who didn't read the comic) during an Entertainment Weekly Facebook live stream at Comic-Con.

"This whole journey of him going to become the king," Momoa said, without realizing what he'd said. "I think the last, last frame of this movie of this movie, you're gonna see him actually become what he's destined to be."

15. An extra named Tyler Nelson revealed soooo many details about Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull to a local paper, prompting a lawsuit from Lucasfilm for violating his non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

They ultimately settled, but it was hard for the extra, who was entirely edited out of the film, to get work after it.

What's the worst spoiler you've ever gotten wind of? Do you think they're always accidental? Let's hear it in the comments.
